Kylia listened to the hard rock guitars behind her while she waited for her part to begin. Her back up singers were standing off to the right, also ready to begin. It wasn't long before her time had come. She started singing with an angelic voice, looking around the room. Always watching what your eyes can't see Feeling what your arms can't reach Thinking you are in need Always hearing what your ears can't hear Feeling what your hands can't touch Thinking you are incomplete
It was never enough that I gave to you All of the horror that you've put me through Now can't I make up my mind this time ? This is where I will draw the lineAfter four minutes and fifty seconds of singing, the song was over. She had hit the highest note of the night and so had called a fifteen minute break. She stepped down from the stage and maneuvered around, trying to find an empty spot to sit and take a drink. Upon reaching an empty stool, she sat down, now surrounded by men and woman of all ages--all at least of age to be there and above. She let her mind wander back to the fire and what had transpired. ((Original song "Never Enough" by Epica; considering the face claim is lead singer of Epica, I imagine it'd sound the same. link

This was something of an unusual night for Lucifer. There was work to be done. That was not out of the ordinary. There was always something that needed doing. But ordinarily, Lucifer could not be bothered to do any of it himself. He had other, more important concerns. But tonight, he had decided to do this himself. It seemed like it would be fun. Not that he was completely alone. He was never without some sort of entourage. He traveled light this night, with only his sword-bearer, a young-seeming demon named Daemas.
Once the girl was done singing, Lucifer decided that it was time to contact her. He could not be bothered to leave his seat for such a thing, though. He reached out with his telepathy, linking his mind to hers. He could hear her thoughts, yes. But more importantly, she could hear his; at least, the ones he wanted her to. A lovely performance, Kylia. Though it is perhaps wasted on cretins like these. However, I can think of a more appreciative audience.

Kylia had kept her head down low while off stage. She liked to feel like part of the group every once in a while. So when thoughts entered her head, she jumped. She craned her neck to look down the bar line to see if it was someone near by. Seeing no one, she sat back, taking a deep breath. That...was weird...In my head almost... she thought to herself.
Well, she thought she thought it at herself. She shook her head and ordered some water. Must be my conscience telling me not to deal with all this....Hello, Conscience. What can I do for you? And what audience is this you speak of? Pray tell, would it be too much to ask why bring this up now?

Lucifer chuckled to himself at her thoughts. To himself, he remarked, Oh, this will be fun. He thought it deliciously ironic to be confused with a conscience, as he did not have one himself. To her, he answered, I bring this up now because this seems like a good night for changes. There is a man in the audience tonight who can change your life forever. He has the power to spread your music and your message to the entire world.
Think of it, Kylia. The whole world hearing your music, listening to you. They would feel your pain and sorrow with you. Your past would become theirs. They would feel for you, care what has happened to you. It would be an audience worthy of your music, men and women who can appreciate your pain and your talent. Your life would be changed forever, and for the better this time. And as fate would have it, there is someone in this room who can make it all possible.

Kylia closed her eyes to listen to her conscience. Any night would be good night for change. And this guy...is he some kind of producer? Is he going to end up tying me down? Because if that's the case, I will just calmly refuse him.
Kylia swiveled in her chair, looking for the man her conscience was telling her about; she didn't know how it knew, but she wouldn't ask. You mean, they wouldn't be like my brother...and they'd actually listen to my music and feel it? Why does that sound so perfect? There must be some sort of catch, and I would like to know what that was... She sniffed and stood up. Let's meet this man, shall we? Where is he?

Lucifer ignored her questions about whether or not he'd tie her down. She would be tied in ways she could not even understand, and it was not worth explaining to her. There is always a catch. Lucifer admitted to her. But this one will be worth it, I promise. You will find him at in a private room in this bar. He retired there after hearing your performance. In a few moments, someone will arrive to take you to him. You must go with him.
Lucifer then directed his thoughts at his sword-bearer, Daemas. Go to the bar. Find the young woman, Kylia Moonshine, who was just singing. Bring her to me. Tell her that I wish to speak with her regarding prospective employment. If she asks my name, tell her that I am Lucien Dantes. She will recognize the name. It would be difficult for her not to. Lucien Dantes was one of the richest men in New York, a man who had a hand in just about everything. The fact that he was also Lucifer was not a coincidence.
Dameas did as he was told. He walked over to where Kylia sat and tapped her on the shoulder. "My employer would like to speak with you. Please follow me."

Kylia felt nerves all of the sudden. I suppose you're right, Conscience. After all, since when have you been wrong? A second later, she realized what she said. Well, considering this is the first time something like this has happened, anyways... A moment later, her shoulder was tapped.
Smiling, Kylia said, "Okay...may I ask your employer's name? And what's yours?" I just want to see if this person is the right one, or if I'm being fooled into trickery, Conscience. I hope you don't mind.

I do not mind at all, Kylia. It is always best to be careful
"My name is Daeman. I represent a man by the name of Lucien Dantes. You may have heard of him. He heard your performance and would like to speak to you about possible employmet," Daeman explained. "Please, follow me. I can assure you that this is the offer of a lifetime."
Go with Daeman, Lucifer said in Kylia's head. You can trust him.

Kylia gave a small smile, glad that she could be cautious. Standing up, she grabbed her things. "Oh, my....it's the Mr. Dantes? I'd be an honor to meet him...Alright, lead the way."
Almost there, Conscience. I feel nerves jittering within me. Should I be afraid? I hardly know these people. I sure hope you're right.

No need to be afraid,, Lucifer assured her. Mister Dantes can be a very nice man, in a matter of speaking. Just show him the proper respect and you have absolutely nothing to worry about. The only thing he will not tolerate is disrespect, but we don't have to worry about that from you, now do we?
Lucifer rose to greet Kylia as Daemas led her through the door. Leave us, he ordered Daemas telepathically. Daemas obeyed without a word. He would be waiting outside, in case Lucifer wanted something. He gave Kylia a smile. He had a very nice smile, when he chose to. "Hello. Kylia Moonshine, correct? I was very impressed by your performance. Please, have a seat."

Kylia walked through the door behind Daeman, and then watched as he left before turning to Lucien. Unsure of whether or not to shake his hand, she returned the smile. "It's an honor and a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Dantes." Her cheeks went red as her eyes took him in; for someone well-known, he sure was good looking. Damn, I shouldn't be doing that. Shake it out, Moonshine.
Being offered a seat she nodded and said, "Thank you, on both accounts. Though, I really don't think that was my best performance." So far, so Good, Conscience. I hope he doesn't dub me insane for talking to myself in my head.
