So far, Darius's search for answers only made him more confused. At least now he knew that he wasn't the only one with this sort of power. He also knew that these powers, wherever they came from, were not distributed evenly. The....thing....he had fought at the library hadn't been able to heal like he could. But, as far as he knew, Darius couldn't control fire or turn into a tiger or read minds. All those attempts had gotten him were a headache and a few burns, both of which disappeared quickly.
He climbed around the rooftops for hours, looking for some place away from it all. As the moon began to rise, he found himself climbing St. Patrick's Cathedral. It seemed like an appropriate place to stop and do some thinking. He had never been a man of faith. Religion had been interesting to him, but not something that he personally had any belief in. He believed that there was something greater out there. He just had no clue what it was. Whatever it was, though, he liked to think that all of the world's great religions offered some pathway to it. So the Cathedral was a better place than most to try and do some thinking.
He curled up in a nook on the roof, under the eaves of annother roof where there wasn't snow. Darius was freezing, but he didn't really have anywhere to go. He hoped his body's ability to heal would keep him from freezing to death. And that the cold would keep him awake. He was in bad shape, though. Shirtless, his jeans torn, and in the snow. He figured that maybe he should be trying harder to stay alive. And yet somehow, it didn't really matter to him. "Maybe Ty was right. He definitely knew a hell of a lot more about this than I do. Maybe my purpose is just to die here." [/blockquote]

The humans were not absent from the square, despite what lay on the horizon for them. The young woman, as she appeared, wore a black hat and long-sleeved fur coat. Her emerald eyes watched them over the half-folded newspaper. She wondered idly how the human race had grown so cold. It was fitting though, she supposed. More war for her, at least. She gave a dry chuckle, breath misting in the cold air. She flipped the newspaper back, eyes scanning the big headline. "Living Wasteland In Third World Countries" It was absolutely beautiful. War had broke out unprecedented among many of them, all thanks to little Valkyrie here. She decided to go to one of her favorite places. As much as she was amused, even the Horseman of War liked her solace once in awhile. She stepped across a passing grate and vanished into the smoke.
She let herself go with the wind, for a moment not quite solid. It took a second for her to be deposited somewhere, before her feet were solid on a rooftop. She looked down, but the heights that she was suddenly faced with did not bother her. The wind blew across her, but she didn't feel unphased at all. She turned, heading around the spire. Ahh, the church. She had found this an enjoyable place, with it's high glass windows. The tale of Wars on some of them, even. She liked that the most. Was she supposed to scare the humans? Maybe, maybe so. It pleased her. She paused when she heard a small, distant sound. A voice? Who would be up here? A flash of indignation ran through her. She hadn't expected another on this territory. She turned, prepared for battle as she walked around the spire.
What met her was, in her opinion, a rather pathetic sight. "Suicide jumper?" She asked smoothly, her voice tinged with an almost warmth despite her sharp, hawk-like eyes. She tilted her head to one side, watching the man. He looked like he had just been out of a scuffle that had torn up most of his clothes, although that was all Valkyrie could confirm about this strange man. How had he gotten up here, was one question running through her mind. She placed a finger on her lip, and thought that she might as well have been faced with the same question. However, she was not like others, and never would be like others. Humanity was not something she had ever, or would ever be, acquianted with in her physical forms. Even now, she was different from them. Still powerful, not weak, unlike, it seemed, this young man shivering pathetically in front of her.

aiden has never liked snow or the cold. Snow makes everything that liitle bit more chilly, it makes the ground soggy when it melts and it stops the plants growing, that's what she hates the most, even with her powers to make plants grow sh can't bring them back to life after a cold chill has frozen the plants solid with frost. It seemed to her that her mood is attached to how well the plants around her are doing; barren trees and dead grass and Aiden is angry or upset, flowers in bloom and green lush grass and Aiden is happy and care free. Her brother says it's all in her head, even so she tries to surround herself with fresh vegetation. With a varied bouquet of flowers Aiden walks to the church, she has made a habit of putting flowers on and cleaning up the graves that have been forgotten and left yo decay. Cursing at the cold wind she gulls her jacket further around herself. "I can't wait for this weather to be over".
Carefully placing a flower on each grave, while avoiding getting any wet snow in her shoes, Aiden makes her way through the twenty or so graves that have fallen into disrepair. Looking at the last flower she smes a little, "You're doing something good, making a forgotten soul feel good". Finished at last feeling a little tired she walks over to an old willow tree. Using her powers she twists the suple branches into a thick rope which she stands on and uses it to lift herself up into the high branches of an oak tree, from there she jumps across to the cathedral roof, somehow not slipping and falling to her death. On the roof there are small patches of grass which Aiden makes grow conciderably larger so she has somewhere to sit out of the snow.
By chance Aiden happens to hear a persons voice, but who else would be up here? Against her better judgement she makes her to where the voice had come from. Spotting the figure of Darius, Aiden makes a bee-line to him, putting a hand on his shoulder when she reaches him. "What're you doing up here huh?". About to ask another question Aiden stops and looks around, a second strange scent reaches her. "Not demon, something like it though".

Darius was about to address this first....thing...when someone else joined them. Both looked like women around his age, maybe a little older. But after his experience at the library, he wasn't going to make that assumption, especially considering the ways in which they had decided to arrive. More creatures like what he had met at the library. More like him? Or was he even the same sort of creature as Ty? Paladin didn't even know the questions he meant to ask anymore.
Maybe there was some information he could get from them. Or maybe they were like Ty and just wanted to hurt him. He looked from one to the other. Before he tried to find out anything, he needed to figure out what their game was. Could they, maybe, read his mind like the other one could? Just in case, he decided he wouldn't think things through before saying or doing anything. That might give him a bit of an advantage.
Unfortunately, when he stopped thinking things through, he said the first thing that caeme to mind. In this case, it was, " Some guy burned my shirt. Can I have yours?"

Just a crazy person, at least Valkyrie thought. She sighed, and took off her jacket. The cold didn't bother her, it rarely did. She tossed it at him. "As wonderful as it would be to see you freeze and then fall from the spire, I'd rather not tonight."
She shifted her gaze to the other female, almost uninterested. Well, well, well. One out of the woodwork, here comes another. She could sense, faintly, something different about these too. Her hand fished into her pocket for a cigarette, one of her guilty pleasures, as she put the cig between her lips. She flicked a finger and the end lit itself. She never was careful around people. Why should she be? Regular humans, she could kill rather easily. Demons wouldn't care. Angels, however, might. These two didn't look like two goody-two-shoes anyway. She shifted dark emerald eyes from the two, watching them both, almost amused. "Well, looks like missy isn't as stupid as she looks." Valkyrie cracked a semi-malicious grin, but didn't act on it. She didn't particulary like females, only a few. Most she considered too weak to even bother with. She probably passed the same thought onto this female. She didn't really care her space was being invaded, although she did like to think of the church as 'her' space. It wasn't really, so she wasn't offended to find these two here. She turned her gaze back to them, a small, teasing smirk on her lips. "So, we've got a plant girl and....what are you?" She turned her gaze on the man, looking amused. Her finger flicked the half-smoked cig over the balcony, watching it land on the church steps. She was mildly disappointed though. A suicide jumper off a church would've been just brilliant. She chuckled, a dark, unearthly kind, but not to scare them. She was just...intimidating, one could suppose. She shifted her gaze once more, looking at the street. Not a lot of people were out at night anymore, which was too bad. She used to have fun with the fact that she could stare at their backs and start bringing up fears, sometimes they go so scared they pissed themselves or began screaming their bloody heads off. It was all in great fun, of course....great fun for Valkyrie, that is.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Aiden would have laughed ar Darius's request had the situation been different, she also would have given him her jacket but War had given hers up first. Rather see this guy fall to the ground? Yep got to be a demo . The flame appearing on the cigarette to light it doesn't faze Aiden the slightest. She's seen demons summon fire, ice and control the wind. The ability to light a smoke without a match isn't going to cause Aiden to go hysterical.
Missy!
One thing Aiden can't stand is been talked to like an idiot because she is a young female. Looking at War her eyes turn a tawny gold colur, her nails growing longer and thicker. "I am not 'missy', that I'd the name for done dumb animal". Calming herself down Aiden turns back to Darius, kneels beside him and looks over his torso for any injuries. Not finding any and sure that he is in relativly good condition Aiden cleats away some of the snow, making s patch of grass grow, and sits down beside him.
"Like you don't know what we are, half-breeds. The offspring on a human and angel or a demon, something better than humans but less than demons and angels. Looks like this guy has the healing factor, by the looks of it he was in quite a fight, he should have some injuries to show for it but he's got nothing". War's smile gives Aiden an uneasy feeling, making her look aways so she can't see Wars face and that smile. "Why are you up here anyway demon? Got no petty humans to harrass".

Darius tried pulling on the jacket but it was horribly undersized for him. He considered his options. Look ridiculous or be fold. He chose the latter, tossing the jacket back to the woman who had handed it to him. "Thanks anyway. I'll survive the cold. I've been through worse."
He listened as the second one, Missy, spoke. For a moment, he figured she must have been able to read his mind to know that he could heal himself. After all, his healing abilities would have taken care of any wounds from his earlier fight. There wouldn't be a mark on him from it. Then he realized that he still had a few small bits of glass in his chest that he hadn't bothered to remove yet. His fingers were too cold to do it properly.
Paladin immediately dismissed her explanations. He'd read enough to know that every religion had their own demons and angels. They were nothing more than metaphoric devices people used in ancient times to make a point or explain some event. They weren't real. Clearly, this girl either was just making stuff up or honestly believed she knew what she was talking about. Darius decided to leave her to her delusions.
It seemed to Darius that her delusion was easy enough to trace. She had come across someone like Ty. Someone who had these powers and knew more about them. That person had told her he was an angel or a demon or something. Maybe he was just a lunatic who believed it was the case. In any event, he knew that she was just talking, mostly to herself. If she wanted to believe that they were part of some fairy tale, that was her business. But Darius wanted a real answer.
He decided to ignore Missy. At least this other one seemed to have something in her head. And she had offered him a jacket. Was she willing to be of some help? Or was she like the other one, leading him to believe that she was trustworthy just so that she could mess with him? The fact that she had the same control over fire that Ty had didn't help her case at all.
"I'm just a guy called Paladin," he told her. "I was hoping you might be able to answer some of my questions. I guess I should start by asking your name." As though that could tell me anything.

"Ahh... I suppose you can call me Valkyrie." She said, nodding her head at him in greeting. She flicked her hands, and in a second a thin sheet with a metallic sheen appeared in her hands. It was metal from the look of it, but there was something odd about it, as though it was heated. She threw it at him. "I forgot you aren't my size. Here. The metal is a special substance and will stay heated in cold, and cold in heat. Vice and versa." Indeed, the metal jacket, which was actually flexible like cloth, would be warm to the touch. It seemed she knew things greater than most, and that little trick was actually kind of impressive, one could suppose. "As for you," She looked at the woman, lazy in her annoyance as she gave a grin that would be more suited on a wolf. "I always torment humans, even when I'm not in their presence. Not that you would understand that, of course. I doubt you understand quite a bit. I'm actually very well known in your whole universe, you've just never seen me with a face." She shook her head. "Children."
As for the man, Paladin, she tilted her head. "By the way, keep that coat. It'll help you if you get into a scrap." She showed him how, walking up. A dagger appeared in her hand, and she'd swipe it across the surface of the metal jacket. The dagger bent. "There." At least she was promoting some sense of fighting. "Now, fire your questions, I suppose. If Miss. Loud Mouth over here will stop her indignation. She's not helping any, I'm rather annoyed." Valkyrie gave the woman a grin just to creep her out. It was that cannibalistic 'I'll eat you, pretty thing' look, and she chuckled afterward. She liked the way the ickly little girl quivered in her booties. Not that this actually happened, but Valk put a lot of emphasis on things.
"Oh, by the way, fruit-loop," She looked to the girl. "To me, you are a dumb animal, so shut up. I don't really care what you have to offer. Be silent. Let someone who knows about these things handle the matter." She turned her head away from the woman, looked at Paladin and tilted her head. "I'll be honest, I'm not the sweetest chocolate in the box, but if you need to know something I'll tell you...and show you, if need be." She flicked her hair back, apparently composed.

"I understand what's happening, I understand what I am. I know that demons and angels exist, that Lucifer walks the earth. The Day of Eden was what it took to awaken us. I am not a clueless bimbo, I have taken the time to learn about what's happening. It's going to take more than some bitchy words to make me leave, this guy is one of my kind and I can't just leave him out here, especially not with you around".
Rather than run her mouth again Aiden keeps quiet this time as the woman talks, her nails digging into the ceiling of the cathedral, using all the self control she has to stop herself from just getting up and trying to rip the demons throat out. What's she going to do, throw her off the roof, set her on fire? Both Aiden has already experienced and both she has healed perfectly from, save a few sore joints. That grin once again makes Aidens skin crawl, but she says nothing, she had come to help this man, Paladin, and she would even if the demon woman made things differcult.
Ignoring War, Aiden takes one of the shards of glass between two fingers and pulls, removing the shard in one shift jerk, then flicks it away and gives Paladin a little smile, just something to try and reassure that she is here to help him. The voice of Valk' makes Aidens skin prickle, every word she says grates on her nerves and patience but as before she holds her tongue.

Darius pulled the weird metal jacket on. At least it was warm. And his size. The fact that it could apparently bend metal was great, but at the moment, he was just happy not to be freezing. "Thanks, Valkyrie." Maybe not the sweetest chocolate, but at least she isn't ripping glass out of me and talking crazy. And... Darius looked at his reflection in the sleeveof his new jacket, this is just badass.
He decided to address only Valkyrie. She seemed genuinely helpful. He wasn't willing to trust anyone yet, but she might have some useful information. "It's like this, Valkyrie. One second, I was just an ordinary person. And then a second later, I...well, I don't know what the hell I am now, but I don't think I count as human anymore. Definitely not ordinary. I have the kind of strength you only see in comic books. I can move...I don't even know how fast I can move. And as you saw, my body heals way too quickly.
"Now, I figure that I've got these powers for a reason. At first, I though tI was the only one. Now I know that's not true. Earlier today, I met someone who called himself Ty. He was....whatever I am. Except not the same. He turned into this tiger thing and..." Darius shrugged.
"So....I know that I'm not the only one like this. Apparently, you two are the same way. What I really need to know is how we ended up with these powers. And what we're supposed to do with them. What is our purpose?"

"Your purpose..?
" The voice carried tones of disgust and incredulity, shaking with supressed passion. That same passion showed in the tightened chords in the neck, and the balled fists at the side, of Raebeous as the air seemed to warp and glow for a moment with her appearance. Her clearly controntational attitude was emphasized by her combat boots, torn jeans (battle-made damages, not factory-created ones), and the tattoos rippling acroos the tensed muscles of her arms exposed by her steel-grey tank top. It was an eavesdropping trick which had taken her quite some time to perfect; she utterly and completely froze her own molecules while simultaneously warping the light around her through slowing down some of its molecules and speeding up others. It masked her presence, except from those with extra-sensory methods on par or greater than her own. However, stealth was not her style and she had heard enough. She had been driving by below in her hummer, following a lead on a rapist who had been at large for far too long, when she had first sensed the trio of attrocities gathered, of all the blasphemous places, on top of the Cathedral. She had reached their location, via the admittedly mundane route of scaling the building, just as the girl described how much she "understood". Impressive knowledge for one such as her, but irrelevent as she was about to explain. " Your purose, half breed abominations," her gaze rotated to include the girl in that particular description before passing on to focus on War, " and yours, rider of the Apocalypse..." Raebeous's arm rose to point directly between the three, fingers splayed wide as her face contorted and her voice rose heatedly. " Is to fall here and now before my Fury!" Her fingers snapped closed into a white-knuckled fist and the air between her foes, as a result of rapidly excelerated kinetic matter, exploded with the force of a small grenade. However, even Raebeous knew better than to blow their cover and so devoted a moticum of her attention to halting the vibrations which might carry the sound of her actions to any passersby. War had been ready to explain it to the man. She had been ignoring the female. The woman did not interest her, but the man had a gritter of a fighter. A warrior. She liked that in a man, and had taken a liking to him in an odd way. Not in a way most would expect, but she liked those with a sense of power about them. She herself was a strong being in existence. She was not quite alarmed, however, when the Angel appeared. Being around a church would beckon as much, and she almost laughed keenly at the woman's words. How pathetic these angels were! How pathetic she was! They killed and butchered the same as any other demon, and yet they thought themselves holy. Who were they to decide who lived and who died? Hypocrites. Hypocrisy was the drink of the Cosmos, it seemed.
"Do not mock me Angel! I am far older than you, far stronger!"
War retorted hotly, her eyes suddenly sparking into a bright crimson. As the blast was directed, she raised her arm and a thin sheet of metal shield absorbed half of the blast. She was flung backward slightly, but the absorbant metal contracted most of the blast. Luckily, Paladin's new jacket would probably assist him. War made no move to help the female. She had this Angel to worry about. A long sword formed at the edge of her hand, the hilt grasped. Flame leapt into life in a circle around the hilt and upward. It was no longer the human Valkyrie standing before the Angel. Sheets of bright, crimson metal appeared over her skin, shielding her eyes. The bird-like helmet adorned her now pure-black eyes with a crimson iris. "Let us end this quickly, Angel. I have no time for your petty games with someone far more instructed than thy." Her voice resonated with the ages she knew. Since the beginning of time, before even the Angels...That was their origin, the day the Cosmos themselves came to birth. She slammed the sword into the side of the cathedrial, having recovered from the blast. Sparks flew from the metal underneath the blade, igniting not only the wood, but burning the metal of the church. War had no reservations about destruction, unlike this young Lady seemed to. She charged the woman quickly, the sparks flying from where the tip of her sword was dragged along behind her. She jerked her sword upward in a horizontal slash, and the flames leapt off in the form of cackling Harpie-like ladies, made of flames, leaping straight at the Angel with their flame-licked fingers eagerly trying to grab ahold of her.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

(I'm thinking the posting order would be :: Darius, War, Aiden then Raebeous)
Obviously Paladin is refusing to listen to her, choosing to take the word of a demon over someone of his kind. I've already told you how we got these powers, I've already told you what we are. Feeling thougherly ignored Aiden stands and walks away from the two towards the edge of the cathedral roof. Quickly she glances back at War and Paladin, crossing her arms, angry and frustrated muttering to herself. "No good demon, waltzing in here like she's the be all and end all of everything".
Aiden breaths in suddenly at the appearence of the angel, she'd never seen one before. "We're not... abominations". Hearing the tone of Wars voice Aiden can guess what is about to happen; the angel and demon are about to do battle. "Crap". The sudden blast of energy is enough to push Aiden backwards, slamming her into a stone edge full force on her hips resulting in a sickening crack as her lower spine, femur and pelvic shatter. For a while Aiden lays motionless on the snowy ground, blood starting to slowly seep out from where the broken bones in her leg have pierced the skin.
She is passed out as War changes into her true, armoured demonic form. As her broken bones and ripped skin heals Aidens eyes open slowly, enough that she can see the roof of the cathedral getting torn apart by a sword and fire. Feeling the bones in her leg and hip grind back together and fully heal Aiden carefully stands up, the roof rumbling beneath her feet. "First I get tangled up with a demon who eats people and now I get to be around a demon and an angel as they're fighting... fun times".

[[OOC: Actually, I believe it would be Raebeous, War, Aiden, then Darius.]]]
By this point, Darius was convinced that one of two things was going on around here: either he had really bad luck or there was some group of people actively trying to kill him. Being attacked by two supernatural beings within the span of a few hours couldn't just be coincidence, could it? It must all be related to his new power. He didn't really have time to think anymore about why he was being attacked, though. The attack itself was far more pressing.
If Paladin had any clue what was happening, he could have reacted in time. As it was, he did not realize he was in danger until Valkyrie erected some sort of shield. That was when he realized he needed to move. He sped away from their attacker, though not quite fast enough. The tail end of the blast hit him in the back, propelling him forward far faster than he had planned. The metal jacket Valkyrie gave him kept him from being seriously injured.
His chest was not so well protected. He slammed chest-first into the steeple. What is it with chest injuries today? he muttered to himself as he fell back down. HIs ribs were cracked, and he sprained one ankle when he landed. That would all fix itself shortly. He put most of his weight on his good foot and looked over at Valkyrie. He was only momentarily surprised at how different she looked.
"Would you believe me if I told you this is the second time this has happened to me today?" Then he took a running jump at their attacker, using his speed and enhanced muscles to propel himself in ways that other men couldn't even dream of.
